Ecclesiastes

  • Ecclesiastes 5 - July 22, 2026

Life under the sun leaves every worldview searching for answers to life's hardest questions (Ecc 1:12-14). Even Solomon's God-given wisdom couldn't fix what sin has broken or fill life's void (Ecc 1:15-16). Only God can make straight what is crooked, so trust Him rather than human effort (1 Cor 10:13).

Life often feels like an endless cycle of activity (Ecc 1:9-11). Keep the perspective that you are working for God (Col 3:23). Involve Him in your daily routine (Jas 1:17).

  • Ecclesiastes 3 - July 1, 2026

Solomon teaches that although God's creation faithfully follows His unchanging order, the repetitive cycles of life and the endless pursuit of earthly things can never satisfy the human heart—only a relationship with God brings lasting purpose and contentment (Ecc 1:5–8; Gen 1:14–19; Gen 8:22; Jn 17:3).

Solomon presented himself as a teacher with wisdom to share (Ecc 1:1). Earthly pursuits and human effort cannot satisfy an eternal soul (Ecc 1:2-3). Life is short, so invest in what lasts forever (Ecc 1:4).

Introduction to Ecclesiastes. Worldly definitions of happiness. Solomon had all these things, but he concluded that all was vanity and grasping for the wind (Ecc 1:14). God has placed within every human a longing for something beyond this world (Ecc 3:11; Mk 8:36).
